Life in August
What a blur this month has been so far, filled with holidays and not a lot of sunshine in the UK. Still we are off work next week and I have lots of exciting things lined up which I will of course share, you know I love to. Until then here's everything that I have been enjoying over the last few weeks!
How to Stop Time, Matt Haig - After seeing the posters for this novel all over the underground I had to give it a read! If you like history I'd definitely recommend this book, the author plunges you into the every day of times past.
You know I'm not going not lie I just haven't been watching anything. TV has been very quiet this month but Victoria is starting back again on Sunday and I am so excited about it, I just love Jenna Coleman and her portrayal of the Queen. It will be nice to have something to watch at the weekend again, I like just putting my feet up and getting into a good series.
Light Coats - I bought a soft Mac from New Look in Khaki which I have lived in. With the weather being all kinds of weird I wanted something light I could just throw on. I can't find the one I bought online but I found it in Petite & Navy which you can get here.
Smirnoff Passion Fruit & Lime Cider - So these make me feel a little bit like I am back drinking alco-pops with the added Smirnoff but they are so tasty and easy to drink I'm not actually sure I care that I look like a 16 year old whilst I drink them.
Amsterdam - Nothing but Thieves
Back to You - Louise Tomlinson, Bebe Rexha, Digital Farm Animals
Lush Rose Jam - Oh my goodness you have to smell this stuff! It's made of heaven, unicorn tears and rainbows. I have received so many compliments whilst wearing this body spray. It's a little pricey at £25 a bottle but I haven't had a new perfume in a while and unlike your average perfume, this actually stays on all day so no need to reapply therefore saving money. I have worn it every single day though so I might need a new bottle sooner than I thought!
Red Earrings - Something else that I have been complimented on every time I wear them, apart from my husband who doesn't like them at all, are my H&M tassel earrings. Another thing that you can't get online and have to find in store but it's worth it because they look lush. I went with red to stand out from my hair but you can find them in gold, silver, black, white, blue, the list goes on. £8.99 and well worth it, just for all the compliments.
Holidays - We managed to get away for a couple of days this year, which you can read about here. I don't know about you but I don't really feel like I've had a holiday unless I can get on a plane and go somewhere where you are immersed in another culture. We've also got a couple of staycations coming up but it was nice to escape, if only for 4 days.
H&M Home - I have always avoided H&M home because I know the second I set foot in there I'm going to want to buy everything. The other day I had a couple of hours to kill at Westfields and I popped in, you know for something to do. It was of course a massive mistake because I was right and I did want the entire store. I settled instead on a gorgeous pink and gold vase which was a fiver in the sale and a cute little bowl with a honeybee, both of which I love. Let's just say I'm going back come pay day!
Car - If you are a regular reader then I apologise because all I have spoken about for the last month is my new car. It is SO nice to have the independence to be able to travel where we want to , when we want to . I've been a little bit shaky about driving as I passed my test 18 months ago and haven't driven since but I think with practice I will get my confidence back. Anyway if you need me I'll be driving to IKEA to buy everything!
