Life in July

July 26, 2017

And with a blink of an eye half a year has passed already, talk about life flashing before you! I don't know what is going on or where the days have gone? I had a quick look back in my diary and I've been relatively busy with a hen do and a trip to see the in-laws but the last four weeks just seem to have slipped away. I can't believe it's favourites time again!

Reading

Caraval by Stephanie Garber - I got this book because my name is in the title, but I ended up racing through because it was so easy to read and I wanted to know what happened! A bit like the Night Circus but better. Blurb reads: Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their ruthless father. Now Scarlett's father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the legendary, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over. But this year, Scarlett's long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor who she has just met, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval's mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season's Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Watching

Big Brother - Whilst everyone else was watching Love Island I was staying true to the one show I tune into every summer without a doubt. The final is on Friday and I'm sad it's finishing!

Game of Thrones - I am so happy it's back! There are reunions and happy tears and jumping for joy and it's just one of the best shows.

Outlander - I am re-acquainting myself with all things Jamie Fraser before series 3 starts in September and re-watching series 1 & 2 on More4. I'm more than happy to re-watch if it means I can see the beaut that is Sam Heughan.

Wearing

Jumpsuits - All of them, all the time. I don't know why I didn't think I could wear them and I'm so glad I tried because I love them. I've just bought this one from New Look which I LOVE and I basically live in this one (regular size has sold out, only tall or petite left).

Eating/Drinking

Special K - In an attempt to shift some of the 1.5 stone I have gained since I got married, to be completely blamed on getting a little excited that I didn't have to watch what I eat anymore and then having a massive binge on EVERYTHING, I have taken to an old favourite of mine to kick start my weight loss. This is the third time in my life that I have attempted to spend two weeks eating Special K  for breakfast and lunch and it sucks as much as the last time. On the plus side I lost 3lbs last week so if I can do the same this week then it's only a stone to shift to get back to October weight!

Rose Lemonade Tea - I'm not normally a fan of tea, and especially not fruit tea. I find it always smells better than it tastes but I was pleasantly surprised by Taylor of Harrogate's offering, Rose Lemonade. The flavours come through and it smells like country gardens in the summer.

Listening

Rollin - Calvin Harris

Just Dance - HONNE

All Night - Chance the Rapper

Loving

Drinks bottle - We took these bottles to Glastonbury and they were just brilliant. They kept our drinks cold all day, which was especially needed on the really hot days and mine has become a handbag staple now completely replacing the plastic bottles I had before. You can get them in all sorts of colours, I obviously went for rose gold, but they do lots of other colours and in matte which I LOVE. Find them here.

Anniversaries - Although technically when you get married you are meant to celebrate the anniversary of your wedding I can't stand the thought of not acknowledging the seven years that we have been together, or as was pointed out to me - a quarter of my life! We went out for lunch to celebrate and had a gorgeous meal with some very expensive champagne!  Blog post coming soon.

Pinterest - After many years of nagging I have almost convinced the husband that we need to do some redecorating! Cut to hours pouring over pinterest for inspiration on new bedroom colours and styles. Pinterest is just a god send for so many things and I already have an idea of how our new bedroom is going to look!
